However, rats and cats, which came to the mainland from ships arriving on the island, pose a great threat to birds, especially young birds.

In order to survive, these predators eat everything, thus endangering the birds that breed there. Now the problem is so bad that at least ten species of birds have disappeared from the island. In addition, these animals also brought infectious diseases to the island, which endangers the birds. For this reason, conservationists are taking the initiative to clear the place of mammals. In addition, they want to spread poison in winter so that both young and adult individuals die. I want to achieve eradication by 2024.
