An incredible tragedy that is still under processing

Sad news received in the days. Asha, the young elephant who lived in the Metropolitan Animal and Plant Garden, was destroyed.

This news might have even found the heart of someone who didn't know the story of Asha, and never saw him in the zoo. Still, these clever, big-eared, long-nosed animals are close to everyone's heart. You can imagine that zoo workers who are in daily contact with elephants can find out what mourning they can live now. A team of professionals worked to save the young elephant from the dreaded herpes virus, but despite their sacrificial work, Asha was destroyed.

Herpse has been a herpes virus, which unfortunately is a very common cause of death among elephants. This is true even for wild elephants, and especially in the times of weaning, the perpetrators are the most threatened.

Elephants are very smart and social beings. They help each other when they get into trouble and see the grief. The doctors and caregivers tried to rescue Ash and separated them from the rest, but the mother elephant and Arun, who recently celebrated his first birthday, seemed to have a big problem with their family members.

The zoo remembered a little film about Ash.
