At least scientists are calling for classification to be made as soon as possible because duck-billed mammals are in trouble. Their living space is shrinking, and as a result, the numbers of these special animals are also significantly reduced. Then agricultural production and mining will take over, with duck-billed mammals falling victim to it.

The states of Australia keep separate lists of endangered animal species. The duck-billed mammal is already endangered in South Australia, but not elsewhere. That is what scientists are urging now.
