High-voltage poles pose a great danger to birds. In many cases, one such meeting is fatal, but the one they find and help them in time, at the Hortobágy Bird Hospital.

It is not at all uncommon for injured storks, orphaned stork chicks, birds of prey to be treated.

Perhaps the most endangered is the Red Kestrel, most of whom end up in the bird hospital because they suffered an electric shock, but storks and mouse hawks often end up in the institution with similar injuries.

Electric shock has always been a problem and now one of the electricity suppliers as well as an electrical factory have teamed up to make their poles safer, bird-friendly. There are some parts of light poles that cannot be insulated and this can also cause loss or injury to the birds. They want a fence-like device to protect birds from accidents. The structure is being tested in the Hortobágy National Park and thanks to this, the birds living there may already be safe. If the data shows this, the devices will be equipped nationwide.
