Dangerous fish were caught in our country

A piranha, but a fruit-eating piranha, was found in Hungary.

This is not the first case, as already in the 1990s there was an example of a so-called fruit-eating piranha being found in this country. Later, however, one specimen was found in several domestic mining ponds. The same thing happened again in the past few days. A copy has now been found in the Szolnok area.

Although the fruit-eating roach dies in water with a temperature below 13 degrees, it is sure to die in winter, that is, there is no need to worry about its reproduction, but there is a greater fear that it can spread disease. Moreover, it is an invasive species, so it is easy for it to spread an unknown disease among the domestic fish stock.
