We have next year's bird

We’re in the middle of summer, but we already know which bird of the year 2022 will be.

Even though we are at the end of July and in 2021, we could already vote for the bird of the year. Possible candidates included the red heron, bluegill, and green spokes. Votes could be cast on the website of the Hungarian Ornithological Society. The vote is closed and the result is obtained. Out of 11123 votes received, the following result was obtained:

3rd place: red heron with 23%,

2nd place: bluegrass with 32%,

1st place: green spokes. He beat the other candidates by 41%.

The bird of the year 2022 is the green spoke, which spends in its own nest, likes the wooded parts, the rows of trees and the parks. It feeds mainly on ants, but also eats the larvae of insects hiding under the bark of trees. So in 2022, attention will be focused on this species.
