Children learn a lot during imitation. Dog owners have already reported that their dogs imitate certain movements.
Dogs have had time to counter human behavior and movement from us, but cats have been domesticated for less time, and even self-sufficient, so they are more likely to be with us just because they are an easy source of food for them. Cat owners can refute this, as well as the ability of cats to learn from humans.
Cats are also capable of imitation-based learning.
