Brothers were born

Newcomers born in the zoo environment are always welcomed by caregivers and visitors alike. Of the animals living in the Nyíregyháza Zoo, the red pandas have now rejoiced.

Especially great is the joy and inducement of a successful breeding of an animal species that rarely produces offspring in an artificial environment.

The red panda is the species for which there are many coefficients that must be suitable at the same time to bring viable offspring to the world.

Six weeks ago, this is exactly what happened. As a result of the love of the red pandas, Ting-Ting and Sichuan, two puppies were born. Naturally, the helpless little was doomed to their mother, vulnerable. It is now time for the mother to leave her puppies more and more, and for zoo visitors to see both members of the couple.

Successful reproduction suggests that all environments are suitable for red pandas, and even males and females have really found each other. The pair, which gave offspring last year, is also very successful under the European Species Conservation Program. One of the newly born brothers is a male, the other female is a small panda.
