He cut his eyes on the eternal dream of Fritz, the gorilla.
Of the gorillas living in European zoos, Fritz was the oldest. The animal born in 1963 was born in Cameroon, but only after it came to Germany. He lived in the Hellabrunn Zoo first, and from 1970 he was a resident of the Nuremberg Zoo. He lived the rest of his life there.
During his lifetime, the gorilla gave the world six offspring, and each of his grandchildren lives in Europe.
The life of the agg gorilla was just suffering. In the last days of his life, he had no strength other than to lie. His power was gradually abandoned, and eventually he became so weak that the zoo's doctors had decided to use merciful death.
