Some long-winged whales took a wrong direction and paddled into dangerous waters that could have meant their loss.
We have already written about whales swimming in the so-called Alligator River in northern Australia. Contrary to the name of the river, it is not alligators who live, but crocodiles.
Swimming in the water teeming with bloodthirsty beasts, people feared the worst. The floating giants would not be endangered by the crocodiles until they reached too shallow a part, as there the large body would be stranded and thus would already be exposed to attacks.
Fortunately, this did not happen. Two animals have successfully evolved themselves into safe waters on their own, but one has only now succeeded. The point is that the third has now reached calmer waters.
