Autumn has arrived and at this time we begin to replenish our vitamin reserves so that our bodies can function well even in winter. In addition to healthy eating and exercise, vitamins and dietary supplements also play a role.

The question arises, if we should think ahead and use dietary supplements, should we do the same for our dogs?

Since in many places the dog is a member of the family, it is no wonder that we want to provide the best for them as well. Their health is important, which can also be supplied to their bodies through food. Proper nutrition means that the diet contains all the ingredients necessary for healthy functioning. So, in addition to feeding them with quality dog food, it is not necessary to give them vitamins, but sometimes it may still be necessary (healing process, recuperation after surgery, in the case of a vitamin deficiency). Dietary supplements include vitamins, minerals, immune boosters, herbal products, and multivitamins.

Although it may be necessary for humans to consume a dietary supplement in the same way, you should know that we never give it to dogs, because they need completely different nutrients and it is processed differently.

Certain signs (e.g. tiredness, stained and faded fur, loss of appetite) may indicate a lack of vitamins, but before giving your dog a dietary supplement, ask your veterinarian for advice.
