Administering mandatory vaccinations is not only important for protecting the health of dogs, but also necessary for the protection of people.

Fortunately, rabies is now very rare and there was an example of it in our country a long time ago. Foxes can also spread it, but with proper vaccination, this is becoming increasingly rare. This fall, however, rabies appeared again.

That is why news like the current one is rare. A stray dog had to be shot in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. The hunters shot him because of his suspicious behavior and the rabies was confirmed. In September, a rabid fox appeared in the area and epidemiological measures had to be taken because of it. Fox vaccinations have been carried out in the area, so a closure is in effect.
