Although it is not at all common to consume a pet and dog in the US, pet-friendly politicians have put forward a proposal to the Senate that would ban the consumption of meat from dogs and cats. The proposal also mentions that it would be forbidden to consume any part of the dogs, cats, and the possession, keeping, selling, buying and killing of animals kept for their meat.
