The Vigyél Haza Foundation famously tells good dog-owner stories

What was a dog looking for in the lab when vitamin C was invented? How did keeping dogs inspire the art of Babits, Móricz and Rippl-Rónai? Did Léda love her dogs more than Ady? Where is Sisi's favorite dog resting? It is revealed in the new campaign of the Vigyél Haza Foundation!

The Vigyél Haza Foundation has been working for 15 years to cure orphaned and injured dogs from the Illatos Road, increase their chances of adoption, and bring them to their owners. After the "adoption boom" caused by covid, in the last 2 years, unfortunately, the number of adopted pets has increased significantly again.

"The mission of our foundation is the adoption of less fortunate, often older mixed dogs, which is a particularly big challenge. Not only because of the large number of dogs waiting for owners, but also in the current economic situation, it is becoming more and more difficult to find a dedicated adoptive family that takes responsibility for life," emphasized András Óvári, founder of the Bring Home Foundation.

In the following weeks, the foundation will present the most famous dog owners in Hungarian history on its social media platforms and how the presence of their pets made their lives more beautiful, exciting or meaningful. The aim of the campaign is to highlight that no matter how much the world turns around us, the joy of keeping animals always remains the same.

In the stories covering a period of more than 100 years, we will talk about such iconic characters as Mihály Babits, Léda, Sisi, Zsigmond Móricz, János Pilinszky, József Rippl-Rónai or Albert Szent-Györgyi.

Their post about József Rippl-Rónai can already be read on the foundation's website:

" Adopting is famously a good thing - József Rippl-Rónai would probably have agreed with that.

In the Vasárnapi Újság photograph from 1913, the painter and his adopted daughter Anella can be seen in the yard of their studio in Kaposvár. Next to them rests the family's adopted dog named Hepi, who - along with their other dogs - appears in many of the artist's paintings.

One of his best-known works depicting Hepi is the work " I am painting Lazarine and Anella in the park, the Hepis are hot " made in 1910/1911 .

Would you take a good picture if an iguana fell from a tree onto your head or neck? They don't smile in Florida either.

For us humans, the most important social link is the family. It works differently with wild horses, but the origin is also very important in their case.
