We don’t live as long as Jonathan the turtle with a health-conscious lifestyle, medical help, and technique.

The exact date of his birth is unknown, but experts date it to 1832. All that is certain is that the armored and then mature specimen arrived in the Seychelles in 1882. This also means that by the time he got to the island, the turtle could have been approximately fifty years old. In fact, according to some theories, Jonathan may be even older.

As we do not have accurate data on the age of the armored personnel and there is no proven data on how long a turtle can live, let us be satisfied with the age of 190.

Age makes an impact. Due to cataracts, the old turtle can no longer see and smell real. It is hand-fed, but it still has a longing for life.
