Many species of animal life can make a sound. For example, some birds can not only sing and communicate with their own bird voices, but some can even mimic the voice. The mammalian vocalization was already much narrower. The monkeys are able to find out from their companion voices what emotional state they are in and they can keep in touch with each other during the sound. You don't have to look at each other to know where your teammates, your companions, are.

It is true, however, that monkeys are able to adjust their "speech" if environmental factors so demand. It has been experimentally proven that white-spotted silk monkeys make their voices heard so that others are aware of their breeder's signal from any disturbing noises. If necessary, they speak to their peers at higher or lower frequencies.
