When more persistent cold sets in, hedgehogs change their lifestyle in such a way that they reduce their energy consumption to a minimum. In other words, they feed off their fat reserves accumulated in the summer, their hearts also beat more slowly and they hibernate.

You don't need to use all your creative skills when making a swing garage, it's much simpler. As we have already written, the pile of leaves collected in the garden is also an ideal place for them, just move it carefully in the spring. But it can also be appropriate if there is some wood waste near the house and we pile it on top of each other.

If this is not a challenge, you can still create a small box out of wood, which, if sufficiently protected from the weather, can become an ideal winter residence for a hedgehog.
