Not only nature is starting to wake up, but also the sleeping animals of winter sleep. Hedgehogs, which are also striking in our garden, are now waking up.
The eastern hedgehog, or as we just call it, the hedgehogs huddled under the canopy gathered in the gardens and parks for the winter, but they even look for something similar as their daytime hiding place. Hedgehogs are protected animals that live the night life, so it is especially important to take care of them during our garden work.
The Avar collected and accumulated in the fall may have been a good hiding place for hedgehogs, so if you want to put the pile in a bag, do so carefully. An iron fork solution would seem practical, but it’s not a good idea for a hedgehog. If not by hand, but break up the larger stacks layer by layer. One of the characteristic defensive reactions of a hedgehog frightened by noise is that it curls, and even if a sky leaf gets on the thorns, it can go almost unnoticed.
Hedgehogs are against them in May and June. If your garden has been chosen as the site of their reproduction, do not disturb the nest if possible. Do not touch or feed the little ones. It’s their mother’s business, and it will if we don’t be there.
